Frankfurt: an American skyline with a European historical center

While Frankfurt is known as a financial center, it is also a very lovely city to visit. It has beautiful skyscrapers that were built in the early 60s, symbol of economic power, which remind us of an American skyline. In fact, they sometimes call Frankfurt, “Mainhattan”, in reference to Manhattan in New York in the United States. The city's tallest building, the Commerzbank Tower, 259 meters (299 meters with the antenna), was inaugurated in 1997.

Frankfurt also has a pretty historical center with many shops that was rebuilt almost to the identical after World War II when the city was massively bombed by the Allies. You must see the Rômer (City Hall), the cathedral and Saint Paul's Church!

Frankfurt also has many museums, like the Städelsches Kunstinstitut, with works by important artists such as Vermeer, Cézanne and Rembrandt, or the Senckenberg Museum, Germany's largest museum with the largest collection of dinosaurs in Europe. You may also discover the Cinema museum, the Goethe museum, one of Germany's greatest poets.

You may also take a stroll in one of Frankfurt's many parks or along the Main River.
